Finally some sun!
To make the most if it and a rare day off from shows and work, I wanted to treat D to a day out.

When I heard about Ilfracoombe’s tunnel beaches, I thought this would be perfect… We loved rock pooling as kids.

We bought a net and headed down to the rocks…

There wasn’t much to catch today, but we did have fun.

I recommend it if you are in the area and know we’ll definitely go back.

Hope you had a lovely weekend too!

Bye for now,

After a busy start to the day collecting fleece and supplies, I have managed to find some time to start spinning. Feels good ;)

Finally all of the fleece I washed is dry and ready for the start of the Tour de Fleece this Saturday… There’s still time to join the team if you want to play along (and try to win a hand dyed braid). Find details on my website at www.sarastexturecrafts.com

Ooo the Manx feels so soft I want to start spinning now! … Wondering if I should put the rest of the fleece on to wash?

Wow, what a week!

A big think you to everyone who kept me busy dyeing last week, despite being a boiler ring down… Orders are out or packed for tomorrow’s post run. I should also thank Makro for having a great customer service and replacing said boiler ring without a quibble. I’ll test the new one on a couple of custom dye orders this coming week, while I photograph stock for this coming Fridays (29th) shop update.

We have a wonderful time at the Devon Lace Teachers Guild Day yesterday. This was an ‘open to all’ sale at Exeter Racecourse. It was great to meet new faces and to say hello to fellow stall holders I’ve met on occasion at other textile shows. It was also wonderful to see all of that stunning lace work!

After the show we rushed home to scrub up for a Wedding reception in the evening… We had great fun and Darrin really restrained himself over the hog roast… I was proud… Bless him!

This afternoon I plan to do nothing more than sit on the sofa, knit and watch podcasts!

Hope you are all having a great weekend too?

What a lovely day! We watched gun dogs working and falconry, met Star the amazing Duck, had a go at dowsing (water divination… I’m a natural apparently!), saw Suffolk Horses as big as houses, spoke with Repto man about his collection of snakes, spiders and bugs… We also wandered the plant and craft stalls… And of course ate our weight in Hot Dogs and Burgers!

If you are around next year, I really do recommend this show for a family day out.

In this episode I discuss my trip to the Devon County Show. I take this trip as a vendor this year and so I wanted to share this with you, in hope to give you an idea of what a show is like from behind the scenes.

This is the first time I have been to a show of this size and particularly a non-wool, or craft specific show. I admit I was nervous and for a few good reasons… would I sell any thing? Would I do the Westcountry Crafts Marquee justice?

After a stressful set up day, the show itself was an amazing experience. Darrin (who helped me… thank you) and I had lots of interest and I had my photo taken for the show’s website http://devoncountyshow.co.uk/photo-gallery (I think I’m on page 41). I also had an interview and photo taken for the Crediton Courier, which is my local paper.

I must give a big thank you to everyone who came to see us, and those who stumbled upon us… each of you made the show very special.

For those of you who couldn’t make it, I hope you enjoy my video diary.

Until Next time, keep Dreaming in Fibre!
