Shawl blocked! I went to my lys to get some lace wires but they were all out so the edges of my shawl are a little bumpy. They said they’d call me...
Here’s the list;
- Batts – Red, Orange/Yellow and Purple options have been added.
- Hand Dyed Blended Tops – I have some new bases to work with on custom order and will have a few ready to go stock items available too. The bases are; BFL/Trilobal, BFL/Silk, Merino/Bamboo, Merino/Nylon (great for socks, not so great for felt making), Merino/Silk and Merino/Tencel. Colours fresh in stock are BFL/Sparkle Bluebell Woods and Merino/Tencel Malachite.
- Knitting Sundries – Stitch Holders to Cable needles and knitting calculators.
- New ZealandCorriedale – New Animal Shades in stock.
- Other Hand Dyed Tops include – Merino in After the Storm, BFL in Tourmaline and Anenome, Falkland in Dartmoor and After the Strom, Jacob in Bluebell Woods and Rusty Gate and finally Shetland in After the Storm.
- Sock Yarn Collection! Yes, it’s finally here and I have two bases to choose from. Other bases will follow later on.

Blue Face Leicester is a wonderful British breed, believed to have come originally from Hexham, Northumberland. The fibre is soft and has a small crimp effect that can give a slight texture to your work. It also has a lovely natural shine, so is wonderful when hand dyed. Great for spinners, felt makers,doll makers and textile artsits… I think you will find this fibre wonderful to work with.
Here’s the list;
- Romney Marsh – Variegated fleeces are available for purchase. Romney is wonderful to dye, spin, felt and embellish with.
- Hand Dyed Fleeces – I have the start of 2013 dye batches to hit the shop; BFL, Gotland, Gotland Cross, Teeswater/Kerry Hill Cross. More will follow as the temperature warms up and increases washing production.
- Hand Dyed Knops – I have a big bag of natural knops waiting to be dyed, so there will be a few more colourways to add to this over the year.
- Limited Edition Batts – I’m carding to order now, so the first colourway options are up and ready to order. Over the next few months, I will add to these.
- Hand Dyed Tops – Just a few left from the Somerset Guild Talk, so make sure to grab what you can and then use the custom order listing to schedule dye batches just for you.
- Texture Boxes – I have some new boxes made up and waiting for you.

Recent trips to the farms have been fruitful and so there are some real gems to share with you today.
Local sourced tops – I have the great pleasure of introducing my new range of ‘straight from the farm’ tops. These really beautiful and fine tops have been hand selected as fleeces, by me at my local farms to produce tops from. This way I can ensure the very best quality for you in top form and no blending with something sub-standard… and it shows! I have stunning black Wensleydale, which is so fine it would spin lace easily in a bitter chocolate black colour. Then I have four colours of Ryeland; Black, Grey, Oatmeal and Brown. Each of these has a wonderfully easy draft and will make some really wonderful yarns. Did I mention they’d be perfect for felt making too?!
Gotland Fleece– Some new clip fleeces are ready for the website. I have two of medium colour, which has great curl definition and overall shading. These will be available in multiple weight options. Gotland is wonderful to spin or felt. I also have some more dyed Tourmaline in stock!
Dyed Wensleydale Fleece– I have some new stock in new colourways available. These have been dyed on white and black Wensleydale options. This is the last of the clip until the next shear, so grab it while you can!
Prefelt 150g and 400g– I will be selling these natural prefelts in metre lengths and fat quarters. Prefelt is great for backing felted projects and also for using as fabric lengths of felt, once worked.

A lovely day for hand dyed, the sky is clear and bright and it’s time for some colour in our lives!
Here’s the list of new product in this month’s shop update;
- Batt Club – Batt club opened on the 7th of Feb and already I have a few customers. Thank you! There are still spots available so feel free to grab a spot.
- Merino Shade Packs – I have put some new colours together that are inspired by some of my hand dyed colourways. You can buy from these, or use them as inspiration to make up your own selections from my solid Merino range.
- Knops – I had people ask me to list knops in a natural shade, so that they could have a go at dyeing some up for themselves. Well from today this listing is now available for you.
- Semi Solid hand dyed colourways – I dyed up the new shades on BFL and I think you will agree add some of the necessary greens and blue/purple that the original shade card missed. I am working on new colour options behind the scenes, so if you happen to be on Ravelry please post a comment on the ongoing – Colour wish list thread. Alternatively you can email me too.
- Variegated colourways – I have a few braids left from the show, so these have been put on for the sale price of £4.75. Please grab these while you can.
- Texture Boxes – if you saw me at Craft4Crafters then you will have seen these. They did very well for all of those felt makers and embellishers out there, as well as a few art yarn spinners. Admittedly there aren’t many left, but I am making the plastic boxes for some new packs over the next few weeks. I hope to have plenty more choice in the March update.
- Finally, but by no means least I have Custom dye listings! These are a great opportunity to buy any colourway on any of the offered bases. The minimum order is 100g per colour, which is why you will have found the semi solids more expensive… normally I sell from stock in 50g batches. Please use these as your go to listing when I am short of hand dyed stock on the website. I dye every Tuesday and Thursday unless something crops up, so there shouldn’t be too long a turn around time frame. If I do get overloaded, or close to a big show I may take these out of stock for a short while, but they will be back as soon as I am more settled again.

Today I listed hand dyed braids, fleece and semi-solids. I also listed threads and recycled sari silk fibres.
